ISD2018 Conference

All important dates

A three-day conference focusing on the interplay of approaches in information systems development with organisational aspects and trends in society. Scientists and practitioners are welcome to participate and share their knowledge and expertise.

ISD2018

The ISD2018 Conference provides a forum for research and developments in the field of information systems development. New trends in developing information systems emphasize organizational aspects of their development and social aspects of the final product. The influence of information of systems and technologies on organizational structures, processes and people is paralleled by the impact of new organizational structures and social dynamics on information systems development, functionality and management. The ISD2018 Conference focuses on these mutual influences in order to promote research into methodological issues and ways in which information systems designers are transforming organizations and society.

The ISD2018 conference, among other topics, focuses on:

  • Transforming Society with ISD
  • ISD Education
  • Human-Computer Interaction
  • e-Health
  • Information Systems Methodology and Modelling
  • Managing ISD
  • Topics in ISD

The ISD Proceedings will be published in the Association for Information Systems (AIS) eLibrary. In addition, a selection of the best papers (by invitation) will be published Springer as a separate volume of the Lecture Notes in Information Systems and Organization series (indexed by Scopus; subject to final approval). See the Call for Papers for details.

We therefore kindly invite you to share your knowledge and experience by submitting a paper to ISD2018 and make your contribution to this upcoming event that will be hosted by Lund University.

ISD History

The International Conference on Information Systems Development is an academic conference hosted annually in a different location worldwide, where scientists and practitioners are welcomed to participate and share their knowledge and expertise in the field of information systems development. During its history, the conference has focused on different aspects, ranging from methodological, infrastructural or educational challenges in the ISD field, to bridging the gaps between industry, academia and society. However, the mission of the conference has remained the same throughout its time: to research, share and discuss developments and trends in Information Systems and Information Systems Development.

Demanding high quality standards, the organizers and reviewers put the quality of submitted papers over quantity, which has kept the conference size at an intimate level with an average of 80 papers, and where each researcher receives a significant audience.

For many years the conference has held an A rank in the well-known CORE Conference Rankings report (see report for ISD here).

As an Affiliated Conference of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), the ISD conference has strong connections within the international information systems community.

The essential information on the conferences that took place since 1998 is presented in the list below.
